Stark County Sheriff's 3 month investigation leads to major drug bust

CANTON, Ohio - A drug investigation has been completed after a three month long investigation by the Stark County Sheriff's Office Metro Narcotics Unit and the DEA.  The investigation led to the recovery of 125 pounds of marijuana and 1 kilogram of cocaine.

The marijuana had a street value of $125,000 and the cocaine had a street value of over $40,000.  This case is being presented to the United States Attorney's office for the northern district of Ohio.

 It is anticipated that 7 people will be charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana, conspiracy to distribute cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana and a federal firearms charge.

The investigation was a joint collaboration with the FBI safe streets task force, BCI, Medina County drug unit, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Massillon police, and the Stark County prosecutor's office.

This case is still under investigation and additional charges are pending.
