DAYTON, Ohio - Southwest Airlines will begin service from Dayton International Airport in August with a daily round-trip flight to Denver.
The airline said Monday the flight to Denver International Airport will begin Aug. 12.
Southwest spokeswoman Ashley Dillon tells the Dayton Daily News the airline is studying other flights it might add from Dayton but no timetable is set.
Dillon says the flights from Dayton should not affect the airline's operations at central Ohio's Port Columbus International Airport, where Southwest has a hub.
Southwest announced in January that Dayton's airport would become part of its route system. Officials said the move will result in lower fares and more destinations for local travelers.
The airline also says it will begin two roundtrip flights from Akron-Canton Airport to Chicago's Midway Airport beginning Aug. 12.
