A man was killed this weekend in a freak accident when a truck fell on him while we was stealing a tire, according to authorities.
The incident occurred between late Friday night and early Saturday morning at Rick Marhofer Buick GMC dealership in North Canton.
The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Richard E. Ritch of Plain Township.
A Stark County Coroner’s Office spokesperson said it appears the truck slipped off the jack and struck the man in the head pinning him to the ground.
An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
