Canton police are investigating the death of a 45-year-old man after he was struck by a train on Wednesday near the 19th Street Northeast crossing.
Officials said they received a call from Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad dispatch after a train struck the man about 2000 feet north of the railroad crossing.
Authorities said they are withholding the victim’s name until his next of kin has been notified.
The cause of the incident is still being investigated at this time, police said.
