NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Police in North Canton are investigating infant remains found in the home of a woman who recently died.
Police are still investigating, but estimate that the remains could be five to 40 years old. The trailer park manager told NewsChannel5 that he saw bones and an infant skull in the foot locker with a deteriorating blanket.
He also said that the woman was "a nice older lady" who kept to herself.
The woman's son and nephew were cleaning out her mobile home at 1161 N. Main St. when they found the skeletal remains in a foot locker and notified police.
The Stark County Coroner confirmed that the remains were human, and that they were from two infants. The remains will be sent to the Anthropology Department of Mercyhurst University for further examination.
Authorities are continuing to investigate.
