Dog lost in fatal crash into Canton's Nimishillen Creek found dead days later

A dog that was with a family when a car went off an Interstate 77 bridge and plunged into a creek last week was found dead over the weekend.
The crash in Canton on Wednesday killed 23-year-old Paul Guthrie and his 3-month-old daughter. Two other family members were seriously injured when their car ended up in Nimishillen Creek.
The Canton Repository reports that two boys fishing Sunday found the body of the dog, a pit bull-mix named Aspen.
Kelly Schoelles with the Tuscarawas County Humane Society said the family had volunteered to foster the dog, which had been at a shelter for more than year after being neglected and abandoned.
Volunteers had searched for the dog for days after the crash.
