JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Just released dash cam video, by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, shows the recent drunken driving arrest of Stark County's top criminal prosecuting attorney, Dennis Barr.
Barr was pulled over by authorities in early January on Hills and Dales Road NW in Jackson Township. In the video, Barr identifies himself as the chief criminal prosecutor for Stark County. The trooper proceeds to ask Barr to take a field sobriety test, at which point Barr explains he doesn't think he can do it.
The trooper asked Barr to walk nine steps, heel to toe, and turn pivoting on his left foot and take nine more steps back to where he started.
"I'm not going to be able to do this," said Barr, who also asked if the trooper could follow him home. The trooper replied, "No, there is no following people home."
Barr then asked if he can leave his car and walk home. That request, too, was denied.
"You know this is gonna ruin my career," Barr said.
Barr entered a plea of no contest and was found guilty in Massillon Municipal Court last week. In lieu of jail time, Barr was ordered to attend a six-day driver intervention program.
According to the Stark County Prosecutor's website, Barr is still listed as an employee.
