JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A head-on crash on Woodlawn Avenue NW in Jackson Township killed two men and injured several others just after 7 p.m. Sunday.
According to Jackson Township police, witnesses told them that the driver of a northbound vehicle had just passed a car on a double yellow line coming up a hill on Woodlawn Avenue NW.
Witnesses told officers that the driver was able to complete the pass without crashing. Moments after the pass, the northbound car and a southbound car hit head-on. Jackson Township police are not releasing who was at fault in the crash.
The driver of the northbound vehicle was transported to Aultman Hospital where he died of his injuries shortly after arriving. The second victim, the driver of the southbound car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identities of the two men killed in the crash are not yet known but police did say that one was in his twenties and the other was believed to be in his fifties.
Authorities in Jackson Township said three other people were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
