Canton homeowner confronts suspects, shot twice during home invasion

CANTON, Ohio - A Canton homeowner who tried to stop two suspects who broke into his home suffered two gunshot wounds when he confronted them.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the home invasion in the 2800 block of Fairmont Northeast in Canton 7:30 a.m. Friday, according to a Stark County Sheriff's Office news release.

Inside, deputies found the homeowner shot twice by the suspects. The suspects fled from the house afterwards.

Plain Township EMS transported the victim to Aultman Hospital. His injuries are not life threatening.

The victim's wife and three kids were home at the time of the incident.

Stark County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information about the incident to call 330-430-3800.
