ALLIANCE, Ohio - A 15-year-old Marlington High School freshman passed away Wednesday night after he collapsed while jogging, according to the Stark County coroner.
The Stark County coroner said Chase Watson collapsed around 6:18 p.m. on Tanglewood Avenue in Alliance.
Ambulance crews transported the 15-year-old to Alliance Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 6:45 p.m.
Watson's body has been handed over to the Stark County Coroner's Office to undergo an autopsy.
Administrators sent their condolences to the family and confirmed that Watson was a student who played football for the school. He had two brothers in the district.
There were grief counselors and church staff members from the community on hand today at the high school.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
