14 more boys identified in nude videos allegedly taken by former coach Scott Studer

Parents of kids getting notified today

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Jackson Township police have identified 14 new victims in the investigation of former Jackson High School freshman basketball coach Scott Studer.

Police said they are using roster pictures and yearbook photos to identify the boys.

The additional 14 victims brings the total number of boys videotaped in the showers to 38. Police expect that number to rise.

On Friday, Police Chief David Zink said the victims are either current or former members of the boys basketball or baseball teams. Zink said the two sports share a varsity locker.

Zink said Studer admitted to concealing cameras in the locker room over eight years, dating back to 2005.

When asked how many victims there could be, Zink said, "It's going to be difficult to say."

Detectives are making calls to notify the parents of the additional boys. Parents of the other 24 boys have already been notified.

Studer has been charged with eight felony counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented materials. He was in court Thursday where his bond was set at $2 million.

Zink said it has been taxing on his detectives as they notify the parents of the victims.

"I think it's taking a toll on our investigators. As parents, it's disheartening," Zink said.

Studer is back in Massillon Municipal Court on Wednesday, November 21.
