$1 million worth of marijuana, cash seized in Stark and Summit counties

CANTON, Ohio - A large amount of marijuana and cash have been seized in a drug bust in Stark and Summit County.
According to Sheriff George T. Maier, search warrants were executed on Tuesday night and the early morning hours of Wednesday.
One warrant was executed in Summit County while two more were executed in Stark County.
Officer's seized an estimated 332 pounds of marijuana, approximately $330,000 in cash, four vehicles, one fully automatic handgun with a 30-round magazine, and one bullet proof vest.
The seized property has an estimated value of around $1,000,000.
The search warrants were a result of a joint investigation of the Stark County Sheriff's Metropolitan Narcotics Unit in cooperation with the DEA.
The FBI, BCI, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Summit County Drug Unit, Canton Police Department, Alliance Police Department, Lake County Drug Task Force, Stark County Prosecutor's Office, and the Summit County Prosecutor's Office also played key roles in this ongoing investigation.
