2-year-old taken to hospital for brain bleed

The Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation of a child who was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for treatment after being examined at OhioHealth Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the 2-year-old was taken to OhioHealth by a family member. Doctors determined that the girl had a subdural brain bleed and arranged for her to be taken by medical helicopter to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

Doctors performed emergency surgery on the child, police reported.

The case is being investigated by detectives.
