Police in Mansfield believe a broken tombstone found Monday belongs to WWII veteran

Searching for clues, family

MANSFIELD, Ohio - Police have a mystery on their hands after a Mansfield woman discovered a broken tombstone in her yard that is believed to belong to a World War II veteran.

The woman told officers she found half of the tombstone Monday next to her carport, located in the 600 block of Bailey Drive.

Police are looking for the missing right half and/or the family of Leroy to reunite the tombstone to his family. If you can help police solve this mystery contact Mansfield Police at (419) 755-9724.
