MANSFIELD, Ohio - A high intensity patrol operation conducted by the Richland County Sheriff's Office, Violent Crimes Impact Team and Major Crimes Unit on Thursday resulted in the seizure of more than $100,000 of counterfeit prescription drugs and firearms, marijuana and drug paraphernalia from multiple locations.
The Richland County Sheriff's Office, Violent Crimes Impact Team and Major Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the first block of Carpenter Road in Mansfield where officers discovered prescription drugs and five firearms including a combat 12-gauge shotgun and a high-capacity shotgun with 33 rounds of ammunition.
The VCI Team continued the operation with a search in the 3000 block of Henry Road in Plymouth Township. A marijuana indoor grow operation was discovered and multiple marijuana plants, grow equipment and paraphernalia were seized.
Team members moved on to conduct surveillance at the 1100 block of Pawnee Avenue in Mansfield for a wanted fugitive. Team members surrounded the location after the suspect was spotted with two individuals.
A woman fled on foot from the vehicle was later taken into custody after it was discovered she had discarded a pack of cigarettes containing suspected crack cocaine.
Team members found drug paraphernalia and suspected stolen credit cards and checks inside the trailer and both suspects were taken to Richland County Jail.
Thursday's operation resulted in the following activities:
- Two traffic citations
- Two felony arrest warrants
- Two felony physical arrests
- Two misdemeanor physical arrests
- Two misdemeanor summonses served
- One search warrant
- One consent search executed
- Five firearms seized
- 33 rounds of ammunition seized
