Streetsboro teens accused of receiving stolen property worth nearly $2,000

STREETSBORO, Ohio - Four Streetsboro teens were arrested early Sunday morning after police responded to a call about an unidentified vehicle parked in a homeowner's driveway.

Streetsboro police arrived at the home on Kendall Lane to find a red Chevy Cavalier in the driveway with four people attempting to hide inside the car. Officers also found several GPS units and other electronics inside the car that were associated with other vehicle thefts from the weekend.

Police estimate the value of the stolen property was $1,760.

Timothy Porter, 18, of Streetsboro was one of four teens charged with receiving stolen property. The other suspects were a 17-year-old boy of Ravenna, a 17-year-old girl of Streetsboro, and a 15-year-old girl of Streetsboro.

Streetsboro police have taken more than a dozen reports of stolen property from vehicles since July 6 and want to remind residents to lock their vehicles when unattended and not to leave valuables inside.
