STREETSBORO, Ohio - A woman was taken into custody after leading Streetsboro police on a wrong-way pursuit on I-480 Saturday night.
At 3:17 a.m., Streetsboro Police received a phone call reporting a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-480 in the westbound lanes heading toward Streetsboro. Two Streetsboro officers responded to the area and found a 2007 Black Lincoln about a half-mile into Hudson on I-480, police said.
The Streetsboro officers turned and activated their emergency lights and siren in an attempt to stop the car. The driver would not stop and continued east in the westbound lanes, according to police. Officers pursued the vehicle into Streetsboro and onto State Route 14 where I-480 ends, they said.
Officers said they brought the pursuit, which reached speeds as high as 80 MPH, to an end on State Route 14 near Shady Lake Drive when a Streetsboro unit pulled in front of the car and slowly brought the vehicles to a stop.
Ashley Stewart, 24, of Columbiana, was arrested at the scene and charged with failure to comply with the signal of a police officer (a third degree felony) and OVI (a first degree misdemeanor), according to police.
They said she refused to give a breath test.
There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
