Shoplifting call at Sheetz in Ravenna leads to drug trafficking charges

RAVENNA, Ohio - Police said a trio of men who were shoplifting from the Ravenna Sheetz were slapped with drug trafficking charges.

It happened around 6:40 p.m. Monday when officers were dispatched to the gas station. There, they searched a Dodge car and found not only the stolen items from Sheetz, but also recovered three handguns and nearly a pound of marijuana.

The three people inside the car, Donte Butcher, 23, of Ravenna, Antonio Tarrance, 23, of East Cleveland, and Damon Jackson II, 22, of Akron, were arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana.

The incident remains under investigation.

Additional charges are pending.
