FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Three people were arrested after the Portage County Drug Task Force found a methamphetamine lab in the attic of a Franklin Township house.
The task force was tipped off that there was a possible meth lab at a house on West Shore Drive and investigated for two days before getting a search warrant, Sheriff David Doak said. Inside, they discovered remnants of an active lab in the attic and crawl space on Tuesday.
The task force arrested Michael D. Piskac, 30, of Ravenna; Ashley Ann Mitrovic, 23, of Tallmade and Robert J. Akers of Kent. They were charged with illegal manufacturing of meth, which is a second-degree felony.
Doak said Piscak and Mitrovic were arrested for making meth on Jan. 5 at a house on Cherry Lane in Kent.
The clandestine drug lab clean-up was called in to take apart the meth lab and a chemical disposal company removed the toxic chemicals from the scene, Doak said.
