KENT, Ohio - A well-known wrestling and baseball coach was killed by a hit and run driver outside his place of work in downtown Kent Thursday.
A woman driver fled and was later stopped by police.
Kent Police are still investigating and no charges have been filed at this time, but police are questioning a suspect.
The coroner confirms that 37-year-old Richard Schoepe of Ravenna died in the hit and run.
Police said Schoepe was struck on North Water Street around 10 a.m.
Friends and fellow coaches said Schoepe was a loving family man and well liked and highly respected coach who volunteered his time with the Ravenna youth wrestling program.
