KENT, Ohio - A Kent woman was charged Monday after she was involved in a fatal hit-skip accident July 17 on N. Water Street in Kent.
Police say 22-year-old Allison Barton caused the death of Ravenna resident and coach Richard Schoepe during the accident.
Barton was arrested the day of the accident and charged with leaving the scene of another accident which occurred after the fatal crash.
Barton was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, failure to stop after an accident, operating a vehicle under the influence, OVI heroin metabolite and leaving the scene of a crime.
Barton is currently being held at the Portage County jail. She is set to appear in court Friday, August 8 at 10:30 a.m.
