Google Maps provides a virtual tour of Kent State Campus

KENT, Ohio - Going off to college can be an exciting time for most teenagers. It's the first time you're out on your own, away from parents and family. You're free to do what you want.

Soon, reality sets in. You have to find your way around campus and get to classes—on time, even!

With the help of the folks from Google, freshman at Kent State University can now take a virtual, interactive tour of the campus on their computer, tablet or smart phone.

A crew from Google Maps spent two days on campus and took over 4,600 photos around campus, even in areas you can only reach on foot.

Kent State is the first university in Northeast Ohio to be a part of Google Street View for University Campuses. Right now there are 35 other university campuses available, with more to come.
