GUILFORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating a small plane crash that happened in Guilford Township in Medina County Thursday morning.
The pilot, 24-year old Leah Hetzel, and copilot, 59-year old Robert Greene, were not hurt. They were the only ones aboard the plane.
According to troopers, Hetzel was flying a 1946 ER Coupe when the plane experienced engine troubles.
Hetzel then flew east and circled back west and performed an emergency landing in a hay field of a farm off Guilford Road, just south of Black Road.
The aircraft had minor damage and the FAA will work to pinpoint the exact cause of the crash.
