PHOTOS: National Weather Service confirms tornado touched down in Brunswick

BRUNSWICK, Ohio - Severe weather ripped through Northeast Ohio once again and some areas were hit much worse than others.

According to the Cleveland National Weather Service, a tornado touched down in Brunswick.


The twister hit around 7 o’clock last night, ripping the second story off this house on Royal Oak Drive. Fortunately, the woman inside made it to the basement in time and wasn’t hurt.
This home and another have been condemned. Several other homes in that neighborhood were also damaged by the tornado.
This follows strong thunderstorms that causes flooding in Brunswick last might.


According to the Brunswick police, a shelter was set up at the Brunswick Recreation Center located at 3637 Center Road for those who needed shelter. Police ask residents to bring a sleeping bag.

Only those in the city needing emergency assistance are being asked to call BPD.
