Montville police release photos from scene of fatal accident that killed one Bath Twp. teen Sunday

MEDINA, Ohio - The Montville Police Department released five photos Tuesday of the scene of a fatal accident from Sunday night in Montville Township.

The head-on accident claimed the life of 16-year-old Katherine Babak, of Bath Township.

Police said an SUV driven by Jeremy Goodrich traveled left of center and hit the teenager's car on River Styx Road.

Goodrich, 26, of Rittman, and the teen's passengers — Valerie Snyder, 15, from Akron and Earlena Couch, 16, from Montville Township — were transported to Medina Hospital, then flown to area trauma centers, according to Montville Police Chief Terry Grice.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Snyder and Goodrich are both in fair condition at MetroHealth Medical Center.

The condition of Couch was unavailable, according to a MetroHealth spokesperson.

A vigil is being held Tuesday in remembrance of Babak at Revere High School in Richfield. The vigil is set to begin at 8:30 p.m.

The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.
