Brunswick meth lab shut down, suspect arrested

Officials raided a suspected methamphetamine lab in the city and seized several items used to cook the drug, the MEDWAY Drug Enforcement Agency reported. 

According to MEDWAY, the drug enforcement agency was contacted by the Ohio Parole Authority to check on a parolee who was suspected of cooking methamphetamine.

MEDWAY said officials went to a residence in the 1800 block of Rocklyn Drive around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. A suspected meth lab was located in the garage of the home. Officials found chemicals and other items used to make meth. All the items were seized.

The Cuyahoga County Bomb Squad was also called to the scene, MEDWAY reported, to detonate three pressure devices that were being used to cook meth. 

Officials said crews were at the scene for about six hours. 

According to MEDWAY, the Ohio Parole Authority arrested a suspect, but his name and age was not released.

newsnet5.com was told the suspect was previously arrested and on parole for manufacturing meth. 

Officials said no one was hurt during the raid.
