The Medina father accused of leaving his dead child in a crib until she decomposed without informing law enforcement about her death has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Eric Warfel, 34, was sentenced to three years in prison after he was found guilty of tampering with evidence, possession of cocaine and endangering children.
Warfel's daughter, Ember, was found dead in her crib in her dad's apartment last July. Authorities said the girl had been dead for about a month when her body was found by an internet installation worker.
Warfel told police that he put the 1-year-old in the crib when she died on or about June 18 and didn't notify authorities or the rest of the child's family.
Circumstances surrounding the baby's death are still unknown.
