Medina County man wanted on five warrants arrested after police chase

BRUNSWICK HILLS, Ohio - A man wanted on five outstanding in four counties was arrested in Brunswick Hills on Thursday.

Police said a Brunswick Hills officer tried to pull over a car on Route 303 for suspicion of driving under the influence. When the cop turned on his lights, the car sped up.

"The officer observed a lot of movement inside the vehicle by the occupants and the passenger began throwing objects out of window," Police Chief Sharon MacKay said in a news release.

As the car slowed down, the officer pulled up next to it in case the suspects tried to run. Brunswick Hills police said that's when the driver put the car in reverse, hitting the police cruiser.

The passenger, 23-year-old Timothy G. Mowery, was arrested at the scene, and cited for open contained and littering. Medina County Sheriff's deputies arrested the driver later without incident in a corn field.

Brandon J. Elder, 19, of Litchfield, was booked on five outstanding arrest warrants and more charges are pending.
