LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Four Olmsted Falls High School students were injured in a three-car crash Monday night.
The crash happened on Grafton Road just west of Marks Road in Liverpool Township at about 9:14 p.m.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Alexander J. Stipek, 17, of Olmsted Township, was driving eastbound when he tried to pass a 1956 Chevrolet.
Stipek was passing in a double-yellow line area near the crest of a hill, troopers said. His Hyundai Elantra reached the top of the hill and hit a Chevrolet pick-up truck head-on.
The driver of the truck, Richard A. Sasack, 23, of North Royalton, was taken to Southwest General Health Center with moderate injuries. The other Chevy's driver, John A. Lopiccolo Jr., 66, of Brunswick, was treated and at the scene.
There were four passengers in Stipek's car: Chase Dupratt, 18; Danny A Cuellar, 17; Ryan Hoffer, 16, and Spencer McCoy, 17. The patrol said all four are from Olmsted Falls and students at Olmsted Falls High School. All but McCoy were taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with serious injuries.
It is unclear if Stipek is also an Olmsted Falls High School student.
The crash is still under investigation.
