BRUNSWICK, Ohio - Brunswick fire and a regional rescue team recovered the body of a 28-year-old male Thursday after searching Brunswick Lake.
The male's father was at the scene earlier Thursday afternoon to identify the body, according to Brunswick fire. But, the city's coroner hasn't released the name yet.
"We had multiple eyewitnesses who saw him go into the water and didn't resurface after he went under the water," said Rick Barber, Brunswick assistant fire chief.
Barber said the man was fully clothed with his boots on when he was recovered in 12 feet of water just in front of the lake's spillway.
"It's not a normal thing to go into the water fully clothed," he added. "We don't know what his intentions were."
The incident happened just before 11:30 am. Crews searched for the victim for two hours before finding him.
Swimming is not allowed at the lake. The rule is posted on a sign on the premises. But, fisherman and recreational boats are welcome.
