Browns, Steelers players come together to benefit Medina County Community Fund

MEDINA, Ohio - The past will meet the present on Friday, Nov. 22 when former and current Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers players come together to benefit the Medina County Community Fund.

The players will be paying tribute to former Browns player Greg Pruitt.

This is the second annual "An Evening with the Browns and Steelers" fundraising event for the Medina County Community Fund.

The players and former Browns coach Sam Rutigliano will roast Greg Pruitt at the Weymouth Country Club in Medina.

Former Browns players Jim Brown, Mike Pruitt, Hanford Dixon, Cleo Miller and John Thierry and former Steelers Randy Grossman, Marv Kellum and Robin Cole are some of the NFL stars who will be part of the fundraiser.

General admission tickets for the dinner and roasting are $125. Early entry field passes can be purchased for an additional $75, which include drinks, appetizers and an opportunity to collect autographs during a personal meet-and-greet with the former players.

"Browns vs. Steelers is the oldest rivalry in the AFC. We are trying to create a competition among the fans. Which fan base buys more tickets and pledges more to the fund? It's about bragging rights, but more importantly, it's about a friendly competition that helps Medina County residents," said Tim Hagerty, executive director of the Medina County Community Fund.

All proceeds will benefit the Medina County Community Fund, a permanent philanthropic endowment of the Akron Community Foundation that distributes grants to a wide range of non-profit organizations that improve the quality of life of Medina County residents. The fund has awarded more than $400,000 in grants to date.
