MEDINA, Ohio - More than 8000 pounds of canned food was raised to feed the hungry in Medina County.
The food drive is part of the "Can the Cruiser" event that was held by the Medina Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, in partnership with Feeding Medina County.
Not only did local residents fill a cruiser with food, but a panel van was filled twice along with three other cruisers. Troopers said they received more than 8,000 pounds of canned food and other non-perishable food items. Shoppers at the Medina Buehlers were greeted by both Teddy Trooper and Santa Claus as they were asked to help fill the cruiser.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said they would like to thank all those generous people that donated food and to Buehlers for the use of their store. This food will be used to help combat the hunger problem in Medina County.
