Week-long increase in patrols in Lorain County; State patrol says Ohio is in 'drug abuse epidemic'

LORAIN, Ohio - More than 20 law enforcement agencies are involved in a criminal patrol in Lorain County this week.

These authorities, from the local, state and federal levels, will work all week to remove criminal activity from Lorain County roadways.

"Ohio is in the midst of a drug abuse epidemic and it is important that we work together to solved this problem," said Ohio State Highway Patrol superintendent Sol.  John Born, in a news release.

Residents can report suspicious drug or weapons activity, and impaired drivers to #677.
