Two weekend shootings in Elyria connected, lead to four arrests and fifth suspect sought

ELYRIA, Ohio - A stunning daylight shoot-out between alleged gangs and drug dealers in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn on Midway Mall Boulevard in Elyria is only part of a weekend crime spree.

Elyria police arrested four people, preventing an escalation in violence. According to police, the three shootings are related.

The first shooting happened Friday in the parking lot of Paul's Beverage Warehouse on Lake Avenue. Bullet holes were found in a vehicle, but no one was injured.

Then, just before noon on Sunday, a shoot-out sent people ducking for cover in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn near Midway Mall.

Two of the people involved were firing handguns at each other, Elyria police said. Again, no one was hurt, but the windows were shattered on a semi-truck parked nearby.

Later on Sunday, four armed men tried to break into an apartment on Foster Avenue.

According to Elyria Police Captain Chris Constantino, officers arrested 25-year-old Bradley Watkins, 22-year-old Robert Henry, 23-year-old Darryl Johnson Jr, and 23-year-old Jessica Hardin on a variety of charges.

Police are seeking the public's help in locating 19-year-old Terrell T. Fennell, aka Tootabee, who police consider armed and dangerous.

If you have any information about Fennell you're asked to call the Elyria Police Department at 440-323-3302.
