Lorain police are investigating a single-car crash that took the life of a woman just after 10:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
According to Lorain police, 32-year-old Ashley Cleavinger was eastbound on Colorado Avenue when she drove her SUV off the right side of the road just east of Iowa Avenue.
After going off the right side of the road police said the SUV continued through a row of bushes before hitting a light pole in a parking lot and then a curb and overturning. After overturning the SUV crashed into the side of the Rapid Auto Body building and came to rest right-side up.
Cleavinger was pronounced dead at the scene.
Colorado Avenue was closed for nearly five hours from Iowa Avenue to Kansas Avenue while investigators reconstructed the crash.
