LORAIN, Ohio - Drivers in Lorain will soon have to head out of town to get their licenses renewed.
Mayor Chase Ritenauer confirms for NewsChannel 5 that the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles license bureau in downtown Lorain is closing at the end of March.
The deputy registrar there is resigning effective March 31, and the city recently asked to have the Lorain County auditor appointed as deputy registrar.
Closing the Lorain license bureau leaves four deputy registrar license agencies in Lorain County: Elyria, Avon Lake, Amherst, and Wellington.
There's also a title office in North Ridgeville.
