Officers called to Lorain house 33 times in year; Grandmother arrested for baby crawling down street

LORAIN, Ohio - A Lorain woman was arrested after police found a baby alone and crawling on the sidewalk.

Officers were called to a house on West 21st Street in Lorain Wednesday morning. According to the police report, this was the Lorain Police Department's 33rd visit this year to the home, where neighbors often see children hanging out windows and running in the streets without clothes.

An officer found the year-old boy crawling down the sidewalk in a soiled diaper with no one else around, the report said. A nurse driving by stopped to help the officer and said it appear the child may have been eating dirt.

Paramedics were called to the house and the baby was taken to the hospital.

The baby's grandmother and guardian, 35-year-old Marsheen Price, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor child endangering. Police said Price has seven children and grandchildren in the home.

Children's services removed the children and placed some with a paternal grandmother.
