Following a series of controversial posts on social media, Oberlin College associate professor, Joy Karega has been placed on paid leave while Oberlin College decides what her future will be.

Karega is an associate professor of rhetoric and composition and first was criticized for her anti-semitic posts on Facebook.

In a statement from Oberlin College's president, Marvin Krislov said "Oberlin's board asked the administration and faculty to use it's governance processes to review Professor Karega's professional fitness in light of her social media postings."

Karega's fate at Oberlin will ultimately be decided by the board.
