North Ridgeville police investigate rash of burglaries

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio - The North Ridgeville police department is investigating a rash of burglaries in the Stone Creek subdivision.

Police said three burglaries happened on Friday on Pebble Court. Police said the thieves got into the residences through windows, between 4:30 in the afternoon and 9 in the evening.

North Ridgeville police are looking for suspects in the break-ins. Meantime, Cleveland police have made several arrests in a string of burglaries in the west park area of Cleveland.

"We identified three to four distinct groups. Some working closely, others had loose affiliations," said Commander Thomas McCartney.

There are some simple steps that can be taken to ensure your home and valuables are safe. According to police, motion lights are important, keep bushes trimmed, develop a relationship with your neighbor, know what goes on in your neighborhood and take pictures of your valuables. Security systems, good locks and dogs can also be useful.
