AVON, Ohio - The North Ridgeville police chief's wife, Elaine Freeman, was arrested for shoplifting Monday at the Kohl's store in Avon Commons. This is the second time Freeman has been arrested for shoplifting.
She was charged with petty theft. Freeman was arrested earlier this year for shoplifting at the Target store, also in Avon Commons.
She pleaded no contest in March for that incident. She was then found guilty by a judge who suspended her jail time because she had no previous criminal history. She was ordered to pay a $250 fine.
Avon police tell NewsChannel5 they are not releasing any other details pertaining to Freeman's latest arrest because their reports are not yet completed.
