Lorain officers use nasal spray to save woman's life after she overdoses on heroin

Revived, she attacked officers who saved her

LORAIN, Ohio - Lorain Police found a woman lying unresponsive on the ground when they responded to a reported heroin overdose at 2302 E.29th St. just before 2 p.m. Tuesday.

She had a fresh injection mark on her arm, according to police.

An officer prepared a nasal Naloxone also known as Narcan, which officers recently received in case they encountered an overdose.

Seconds after the Narcan was given to the woman, she regained consciousness and then attacked, trying to bite the officer.

Once calm, she walked to the ambulance and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Lorain.

This is the first time that the Naloxone had been used by Lorain officers.
