ELYRIA, Ohio - Residents in Elyria or the surrounding areas are being warned Tuesday to be tested for Tuberculosis after one woman contracted the disease.
Tuberculosis, or TB, is a serious disease that affects the lungs. The disease is spread through air. When a person laughs, speaks or sings the germs are then propelled into the air.
As part of the investigation into the active case in Lorain County, the Mercy TB Clinic is encouraging frequent customers of Boomers Bar or Pudge's Place between Dec. 1, 2013 and April 9 to get tested.
Boomers bar is located at 305 Broad St. and Pudge's is at 311 Broad St.
Mercy TB Clinic is open this Friday, April 25 from 8:30 to 3 p.m. for free testing. Test results will be available for reading on Monday, April 28 from 8:30 to 3 p.m.
