Lorain police searching for four men posing as carpet cleaners

LORAIN, Ohio - In a quiet, west side Lorain neighborhood, four men are posing as carpet cleaners trying to make their way into your home.

Police are now looking for four men in their early twenties, as neighbors described.

According to a police report, one white male, wearing a gray sweater vest and dress slacks, approached a home while three black males waited inside a 2000 silver Ford Windstar van.

The homeowner told police the man approached her home and offered to clean carpets. He asked a few questions about the conditions of the carpet before handing over a business card. When the homeowner denied service, the man asked for his business card back and left abruptly. The suspect claimed the business card was the only one he had.

The homeowner told police the business card advertised a cleaning company located in Middleburg Heights.

Police are hoping that more people come forward if they have seen these men. Also hoping that residents see door-to-door red flags if they do.
