LORAIN, Ohio - Lorain Police arrested a man they say drove a woman to a field in Groton Township, Erie County, raped her and left her for dead.
Police found the man and arrested him Friday evening after a manhunt and charged him with rape.
According to police, the 31-year-old woman was leaving a store in Lorain when she saw the suspect, who was an acquaintance. He threatened her with a gun, forcing her to get into his car.
The man, who police allege is Brian Jury, 38, drove her to a field in Groton Township, where he raped her repeatedly over the course of several hours, then left her for dead.
He drove her car back to Lorain, police said.
The woman was spotted bound and naked on the side of the road at around 2 p.m. by an off-duty Erie County deputy.
After a manhunt, police spotted Jury driving a motorcycle on W. Erie Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. Police said he had two firearms in his possession. He's been charged with rape, kidnapping and carrying a concealed weapon and is currently being held without bond in the Lorain City Jail.
