The tears streamed down Jovan Cooper's face as she described the moment she found her three-month-old son dead.
The Lorain mother of four children works overnights and has a teenage caretaker look after her children while she is at work.
Cooper said when she came home from work last weekend, she went to check on her three-month-old baby boy Nicklaus.
Cooper said she noticed a bruise on his cheek and blood by his nose.
She said when she removed the blanket to pick him up, he was dead.
“I want to know why, why me, why my baby nobody deserves this, my baby was only three months and fourteen days, and to find my son the way I did, I’ll never have that image out of my head,” Cooper said.
Cooper said she blames her babysitter for her son's death.
Lorain Police said they are investigating a juvenile suspect, and they are treating the case as a homicide.
The juvenile could not be reached for comment.
No charges have been filed against the juvenile.
“I want the justice system to work to its fullest because no mother or no parent should have to bury their child or at any age,” Cooper said.
Lorain Police said once they finish their investigation, they will turn the case over to the prosecutor who will decide if any charges should be filed.
