LAGRANGE, Ohio - Doctors said he'd never speak again. But a Lorain County teenager has proven them wrong.
Kyle Delligatti, 17, spoke his first words in nearly six months on Monday.
"All I hear is 'no way,'" his mother, Wendy Murray, said. "I knew that was Kyle's voice."
Delligatti suffered a traumatic brain injury in a February car wreck. He was on a snow day from Keystone High School and was on his way to the store for eggs.
His friends have been at his side every day since. They held a benefit volleyball game. They're also hosting a Color Run in September.
"He would do the same for me," longtime friend Amy Spanos said. "I want him to get better."
"It is God, Kyle's strength, family, friends, and community, the reason he is here with us today," Murray said. "He just won't let anyone down. He's just not that kind of kid."
