Lorain County officials released more information Thursday about remains that were found in Huntington Township last month, in hopes that someone will be able to identify the victim.

According to the Lorain County Sheriff's Office, the victim, a Caucasian female, had been dead for at least two years before she was found.

The remains were found on March 22 by a man who owns property off State Route 58. Authorities said the man saw the bones while he was checking for damage from a wreck in the area a few days before.

The Lorain County Medical Examiner sent the remains to an anthropologist who determined that the remains were from a female likely in her 20s. However, she could have been in her upper teens or early 30s.

The woman was between 4-foot 8-inches and 5-foot 5-inches tall. She had all 32 of her teeth, including four wisdom teeth. According to the medical examiner, she never had any orthodontic work.

The remains had been in the field where they were found for at least two years, officials said. However, they could have been there for up to 20 years.

The victim was wearing a spaghetti strap top with a shrug, Victoria's Secret brand sequin and pearl underwire bra size 38 B with matching panties and artificial nails decorated with a white flower and white tips. She had one stud earring in her ear.

Also found at the scene were a metal belt buckle, bangle bracelets and a watch with a leather band.

Investigators say they reached out to the manufacturer of the watch to find out information about the product. That model has been out for 30 years and is still in production.

Authorities say at this time there are no leads in the case.

Once the medical examiner gets the remains back from the anthropologist, he will collect DNA samples. If the victim cannot be identified that way, they will send the skull for facial reconstruction.

Anyone with information on the possible identity of the victim is asked to call the Lorain County Sheriff's Office at 440-329-3742.
