The grandmother of a Lorain toddler who wandered away from her home Wednesday evening says she thanks God her grand daughter was found safe.

"I'd like to thank everybody, absolutely everybody that came out, took the time to help look," said Luann Kurta shortly after 2-year-old Lana Lowther was found in the snow about four blocks from her home. "They said there was hundreds of people. I know it's cold but everybody didn't care. All they thought about was my grand daughter."

Police are still investigating where the toddler was in the several hours she was missing. Officials said her body temperature wasn't significantly below normal, indicating she may not have been outside the entire time.

"If she just got out and was walking around maybe we need to talk to her another day," said Kurta. "But if someone took her, shame on you. She’s a two-year-old innocent child and all I can say is, whoever found her, thank you, thank you for calling police and letting us know she is alive."
