LORAIN, Ohio - UPDATE: NewsChannel5 contacted Lorain police, who said the mom and son are safe. They are no longer considered missing.
Dozens of people went door to door Thursday night searching for a missing Lorain mother and her 3-year old son. Their family fears they've been kidnapped by an ex-boyfriend.
There were hugs and tears of grief for Luz Medina Diaz.
"Anyone that can see her or this guy because he's a very dangerous person, please call police as soon as possible," Diaz pleaded.
Angeliz Medina Rivera, 24, and her son have been missing for two weeks.
"The last time they talked to her they received a phone call - she was crying. He snatched the phone and threatened her family," said family friend Angel Arroyo.
Arroyo is pastor at .COM Ministries. He's also a Guardian Angel. He helped hand out fliers of Angeliz and her son in her Lorain neighborhood Thursday. Pastor Arroyo has been down this road before. For years, he helped search for Gina DeJesus, a family friend.
"I never wanted to go through what Felix had to go through, what Amanda Berry's family went through, what Michelle was thinking inside the loneliness. I never wanted to go through that," he said.
Luz Medina Diaz just flew in from her home in Puerto Rico to help find her daughter and grandson. She last heard from them on May 29.
"He didn't let her speak no more, just took the phone from her," she said.
Medina Diaz says her daughter's ex-boyfriend kidnapped her daughter and grandson last year, but charges were eventually dropped.
