An Elyria woman was killed Saturday afternoon after the motorcycle she was a passenger on had a tire blowout causing her to be ejected from the vehicle.

According to authorities, shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday, 36-year-old Deanna M. Schill, of Bell Avenue, was traveling eastbound on State Route 10 near State Route 83 on a purple 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle when the crash occurred.

The driver of the motorcycle was flown to MetroHealth in Cleveland with incapacitating injuries. He is currently in stable but serious condition, police said.

Schill was taken to St. John Westshore and later pronounced dead.

Neither rider was wearing a helmet, police said.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
